Adding unique content to your directory probably one of the best way to make your directory more valuables. It is good for your users (especially when you’re running niche directory) and so does search engine :). Here I’m using wordpress to create the news section (what’s up) and the article section (IndexU Tips & Trick).

When browsing my site, you’ll noticed Google, Yahoo, and MSN stats in the bottom of detail page. The stats will show number of backlinks in google and yahoo (no MSN at the moment) and indexed page in google, yahoo and MSN.

Just added blog system in IndexU Directory. It is using the most popular blog script : wordpress :). This blog will replace the news section (what’s up page) and the article section (IndexU Tips & Trick). There is no problem with the old way, using IndexU custom template to create news or article page. I just want to try out wordpress, and now I like it :) (especially iG:Syntax Hiliter plugin ^_^, this really help me a lot when writing articles)

The default tags cloud feature from IndexU is a little bit plain. So I decide to spice it a little bit with color to make it nicer. You can achieve this in two ways : by editing the tags cloud block script directly or block template.
Here I choose to edit the block template, so I can keep the original block script untouched.

Few days ago I create “Random Site of The Day” for my site. My goal is to give more benefit for premium listing owner. The block will show randomly 1 site thumbnail from premium listings in the right panel. This block is using the default “random listing” block that available on IndexU, it just using different templates file and parameters.

This is the updates summary since Dec 2006 until July 2007 in IndexU directory.

I just add “IndexU Tips & Trick” section to the site.
And finished my first and second article :). The first is about how to do “deep links mods” in IndexU. And the second one is how to do “colorfull tags cloud” in IndexU.

In the right panel of my site you’ll see “Regional Directory” list block. I create this block to make navigation easier for user, and I want to give more exposure to the “regional list”. This block is created using standart “category list” block that available in IndexU. (this tips is valid for IndexU 5.4.0)
