In IndexU 5.4.0, we can only have permanent option for “BASIC” listing (one time inclusion fee). This is okay for most users, but there are few users that need BASIC listing to have time periods too, since they are running a classified type directory or special type directory where a listing can not be permanent.

This mods will provide a nice and better contact us page for your IndexU directory. Please notes that IndexU already have a way to contact admin (http://www.indexudirectory.com/sendmail.php?u=admin), this is just an alternative since I want the contact us page to be different that the default sendmail form and it’s template can be customized further to be more professional.

A member ask me for review notification for link owner, so here it is :). The purpose of this mods is to send email notification to link owner when moderator/admin has approve a reviews to for their link. You can download the file here (you’ll need to login first).

When submitting to IndexU based directories, you’ll notice the “additional categories” field. This is great feature and many people like it, including me :). But some people do not like it and prefer simplicity with one category only. So here is how to remove the “additional categories” in IndexU safely. No source code modified, only the templates and javascript file.

In the latest IndexU version (5.4.0), it is still using Google SOAP Search API for the “web search” feature. If you already have the “Google SOAP API Key”, then there will be no problem using this feature. But unfortunately Google no longer issuing new API keys since December 5, 2006.

My new listing page is a little bit different with the original IndexU have. It doesn’t show dates and category for new/updated listings, it simply shows the last 20 new/updated listings. I like this way better :)

If you browsing my directory, you’ll notices the RSS feed in the bottom of categories and tags page. It is taken from yahoo news rss using the ‘rss feed’ block feature that already provided by IndexU. No source code change in this regards, simply playing around with the templates file :)
