This is another mod that requested by our member here. The purpose of this mods is to store categories suggested by user into database, so then administrator can easily approve or reject from IndexU admin panel, the behavior is just like handling pending links and reviews.

This mods is an alternative listing page for hot listing, top rated and editor pick listing. The default IndexU shows these listing pages for each main categories, this mods is simple show them all globally. So it will show most popular links among all sites for hot listing pages, show editor pick for all sites, and same goes to top rated listing. For top rated listing, we divide it into two section : “Top 25 Links By Rating” and “Top 25 Links By Votes” to make it better.

One of the thing that we must do after installing IndexU is populating the categories database. This can be done in two ways, using the category dump database that available in many sources or adding category yourself. Using category dump is a great and fast way building categories, but since everyone use it, your categories structure might not unique anymore. Adding category yourself is the best way if you want to have unique category structure, but it can be time consuming if we have to do it one by one. So here we developed this mods to make it easier for you for adding and managing categories.

A few months ago we release a mods on how to build deep links with IndexU. Today we release a small javascript enhancement for deep links, as requested by one of our member here. With this mods now you can enable/disable any number of deep links based on the listing type that user choose, it is quite flexible.

This is one nice mods that requested by our member. The purpose of this mods is to replace the standard IndexU rating system with the one that based on AJAX to make it better. Now user can rate a link directly from detail page without leaving.

When browsing our site, you’ll noticed that we have a lot of stuff in our left and right panel. There are category list, directory stats, pagerank stats, blogs component (category, recent post, archive), etc. All of them are IndexU component, or usually refer as “blocks”. Most blocks usually need database query, so when using a large number of blocks it might slowdown your site since more database query need to be performed.

This mods will split the generated sitemap files into smaller one to avoid google sitemap limitation issue (max url per file : 50,000). IndexU already doing great job on this issue by splitting the generated sitemap for detail pages. This mods will enhance it a little further by splitting the category and tags pages too.

The purpose of this blocks is to show the most popular categories in your site. This blocks is similar with the “hot listing” blocks that available in IndexU, but this one is for category. IndexU already store the hits data for every category, so we do not need new table for this.

This mods is very similar with the latest visit mods, but this one is for category. When user browsing your categories, we track the latest category they visited and then we can show them using blocks. Same with the previous mods, we need another table to store latest categories data.
