Recently we change our site again, instead of showing WP recent post from all we decide to show the recent post grouped by their categories. You can see this in our right panel : IndexU Tips & MODs and What’s Up section. With this, now we can give more exposure to categories we want. This mods still related to the Wordpress and IndexU Integration that we did last year.

In IndexU, we already have a block that list the most visited links (Top 10). This mods is similar to the default IndexU has, but we include time period like : Most Visited This Week, Most Visited Last Week, Most Visited This Month, Most Visited in 10 Days, etc. We develop this mods based on suggestion by one of our member here, a very interesting idea.

Couple of months ago, one of our member having slow performance problem with their IndexU sites. After quick investigation, we found that it is caused by one of our mods : the “Popular and Latest Search” mods. The actual problem is not the mods it self, but it is because of the giant size of the search log records.

It seems many of our visitor searching for blogs/article using the big search bar above, but unfortunately they will found no result from blogs because it is only searching for IndexU links not the Wordpress content. So we decide to make a mods that will search Wordpress content and display it’s result within IndexU, hopefully it will make our site more useful for users.

In IndexU, we usually put advertisement in the top or bottom of browse listing page. But one of our member member asked on how to put advertisement in the middle of the listings. A simple but interesting stuff, so here is how to do it.

The mods name probably a little bit confusing, but that is exactly what this mods do, redirecting to the correct detail page. In IndexU, we often use ‘link title’ as part of detail URL, sometimes it is also combined with ‘category name’ or ‘category path’ to build detail URL we want. There’s no problem here.

After the release of AJAX Rating Mods couple of months ago, we receive suggestion from our members to implement this mods in IndexU “Get Rated” section. So the site owner could place this widget in their site and allow its visitor to rate the site directly without leaving. The mods is available now, we hope it is useful for you.

This one is suggested by one of member here. The idea is to hide the payment gateway section when user choose free listing type, and only show them when paid listing selected. A simple but very useful suggestion, so we decide to implement this mods.

After we release a mods for adding RSS to detail page early in this month, one of our members asked for a mods that can check all links in IndexU database and try to lookup their RSS feed if available. The RSS feed then will be added in custom field that were used in our previous mods. This is very interesting idea, so we decide to build this mods first.
