Alternative Listing Page

This mods is an alternative listing page for hot listing, top rated and editor pick listing. The default IndexU shows these listing pages for each main categories, this mods is simple show them all globally. So it will show most popular links among all sites for hot listing pages, show editor pick for all sites, and same goes to top rated listing. For top rated listing, we divide it into two section : “Top 25 Links By Rating” and “Top 25 Links By Votes” to make it better.
Members can download this mods for FREE here (you’ll need to login first).
Here is the installation step :
- Please backup your original hot.php, pick.php and top_rated.php first, since this mods will overwrite them. Also backup the corresponding templates files.
- Unzip and upload the alternative-listing-page.zip file to the corresponding IndexU folder.
- The default links shown is 25 links. If you want to change this, simply edit the the corresponding script (hot.php, pick.php, top_rated.php) and look for $links_obj->max_rows variable. You can adjust it’s value to suits you.
- For top rating listing, to prevent abuse in “Top 25 Links By Rating”, only links with minimum number of votes that will be shown. You can adjust the $min_voters variable in top_rated.php script. The default value is 2, you can increase this value if needed.
Done.
The template files are based on default IndexU “kosmos” template, so you might need to adjust them if you’re using another templates.
We have use this mods in our hot listing and top rated listing page. We’re not using the editor pick in our directory, but the result should be similar.
