Popular and Latest Search Blocks

As promised in previous mods, here we create few blocks to show the search term in page so hopefully it will be useful for users and search engine can crawl the search result page correctly.
There are two blocks in this regards :

• Popular Search Block : show the most popular search term
• Latest Search Block : show the latest search term

Members can download this mods for FREE here (you’ll need to login first).

Upload the *.php files to your "blocks" folder, and upload the *.html files to your "themes/active_themes/blocks" folder.

The blocks is using the default "kosmos" layout. So if you use other themes, you'll need to adjust the template files a little bit.

Here is how to call the blocks within your templates file :

About the blocks parameter :

• view : value "clouds" or "plain", show the blocks in tags cloud model or a simple plain listings
• title : the block title
• max_item : number of term to show
• min_result : number of minimal search result that will be shown (min_result = 2, mean search term that produce less than 2 result will not be shown)
• exclude_words : if search term contains these words, then it will be not be shown
