This is the updates summary since Dec 2006 until July 2007 in IndexU directory.

I just add "IndexU Tips & Trick" section to the site.
And finished my first and second article :). The first is about how to do "deep links mods" in IndexU. And the second one is how to do "colorfull tags cloud" in IndexU.
I hope this will be a usefull resource, and sorry for my English :)

I've removed the "Editor Pick" page and replace it with "Premium Listing" page.
Hopefully this page will bring more benefit for premium listing owner.

I just transform site layout from fixed 800x600 layout to full CSS liquid layout (tableless).
I've added right panel and move some blocks there for better navigation.
Fiuh, CSS is really hard, much more harder than doing IndexU mods :).
I'm still new if this CSS stuff, so I might break something here :).
If you found a problem with this new layout please let me know.

Update the submission form a little bit to provide more information and guide for submitter.
New block created :), it is "Site of the Day" block.
The block will show one sitewide random premium listing in thumbnail. It is very simple, and using existing "random listing" block that provided by IndexU.
Here is the block call :
Create the block.random_site_of_the_day.html and block.random_site_of_the_day_rows.html template then call this block from header.html or footer.html, and you're done :)

There's great news coming from IndexuThemes.com today.
They reduced the price to $50 for single licence and $195 for unlimited licence !! :)
Also, they release three more excellent templates : Webbie, Cleaner and Storm

I've done minor updates to the site :
- Re-arrange the left panel and enable whos online block again :)
- Add small icon for write a review, add to favorites, refer to friend and report broken link in frontpage and browse page.
- Remove the MSN backlink info in detail page, since MSN discontinuing advanced queries service in the last couple of month :(.
- Change the default sorting for browse page and search result based on Google Pagerank

They release six nice templates at once in their first day :)

Recently I found 2 problem in the site :
- Seems the new search engine friendly URL for detail page have a problem with browse page. The problem solved by editing the .htaccess file :

- The AJAX in submission not working on FireFox. Not sure what happened, since everything was okay in my previous hosting. But the problem solved by turning off mod_security engine using .htaccess again.

I moved to the new hosting :), there's a lot of problem in the old one. Hopefully everything get better now, currently using HostGator, satisfied with their support and no problem so far :). About the site, I've changed the "Quick Search" feature to display the result in "Compact View" by default, hopefully it more comfortable for users.

Replace the header AdSense with the last 6 new/updated links thumbnail that point to detail page. Hopefully this can help to increase PR for new links detail page, since this header is used in all 900 page that indexed by Google at the moment. I also add "Display" option in "Quick Search" block, so user can directly choose between "Full View" and "Compact View" without having to browse first.

Change the detail URL again :). The new format is {$link_title}-{$link_id}.html
I'm using the 301 redirect to transfer old detail URL to the new one.
Hopefully the new detail page do not loose it's PR value.

Override the default new listing page from indexu. Instead showing new listing for each categories, I change it so show the last 20 new/updated listings. I think it is better this way.

So I have to hack the smarty template to provide some caching mechanism for this.

I've added more features to indexudirectory.com :
- Detail Info
Directory owner can provide more detail information regarding their directory (it's strong point, benefits, uniqueness, etc). Five deep links allowed in detail info. Thanks to tinymce for the editor, this is a really nice stuff. - Compact View
Provide options for user to display directory listing in full view or compact view. In compact view, description and thumbnail are not shown for quick loading. But premium and sponsored links are not affected and will be shown in full. Also, in pricing info you'll find these abbreviation : P, Y, 2Y, 3Y, M, 2M, 3M, 6M.
P : permanent
Y : yearly, 2Y : 2 year, etc
M : monthly, 2M : 2 month, etc - Sorting by Pricing Package
Add sorting by pricing package for directory listing. The 0 pricing package (FREE) will be ignored in this regards.
I hope these new features will make the directory more usefull for you all.

I've been very busy lately, so not much update at the moment. But I've upgrade the script to use indexu 5.4.0 (nighty build version) and added "listing term" in quick search box to be more usefull for users. One thing surprised me today, indexudirectory.com now jump from PR0 to PR4 :). Not bad for less than 3 months old directory. Will continue adding more stuff here, if you have an idea on what you need in this directory just contact me.

I've added a filter feature to make browsing and searching easier. You can easily choose all listing, free listing, paid listing, reciprocal listing or deep listing to filter the result. I hope you like it.
